SolarBC Success’ and Savings
SolarBC, a program Eaga Canada, was selected to deliver in collaboration with the BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) by Natural Resources Canada to implement their province wide Residential Solar Hot Water Pilot initiative. The residential program offered point of sale grants off the cost of a solar hot water system, a network of approved, certified installers, information of events in the province and much more.
SolarBC was started in 2008 and is the most successful solar program in Canada out of 14 pilot projects. Below are highlights of the total installations SolarBC has achieved in the past 3 years:
- 546 residential installations
- 45 SHW Schools + 15 PV Schools
- 39 local government
- 15 Social Housing
- 7 Post Secondary Institutions with 3 more scheduled for 2011
- 2 Health Care Facilities with 3 more scheduled for 2011
